Join the IMS team.

We are always interested in hearing from engineers who want to be part of a core in-house team, and from specialist subcontractors who work to the same standard we do, across Greater London and the South East.

Our standards

The standard every person on an IMS job has to meet.

Clients trust us with occupied buildings, so we are careful about who carries our name on site. This is what we ask of every engineer and every subcontractor, and what a managing agent can expect from anyone we send.

Qualified for the trade they attend

Engineers hold the scheme registration that matches the work they are sent to, and we confirm it is in date before they attend site.

DBS checked

Everyone attending occupied residential property is DBS checked. Residents and landlords should never have to wonder who is at the door.

Insured

IMS holds full liability insurance as a company, and subcontractors evidence their own public and employer's liability cover before they are onboarded.

Working to our ethos on site

Uniformed and identifiable, protective coverings down, work areas cleared at the end of the day, and residents spoken to properly.

Reported and photographed

Every job is written up with photographs, so managing agents and freeholders get evidence rather than a verbal update.

Accountable to one team

Whoever attends, the job stays with our bookings desk and the account manager named on your instruction.

Working at IMS

A core team, not a list of numbers.

Our engineers are the business. You will be given the work, the tools and the backing to do the job properly, and the time to do it right rather than fast.

  • A directly employed core team, not a day-rate churn of unknown faces
  • Steady work across managed portfolios rather than one-off jobs
  • A bookings desk that plans your day and keeps travel sensible
  • Variety across refurbishment, compliance and specialist mechanical work
  • Support to keep your accreditations current
  • Clear reporting tools so your work is evidenced properly

Trades

Trades we want to hear from.

We take speculative applications all year, whether or not a dated vacancy is advertised. If you are good at what you do, send your details and we will keep you in mind as the team grows.

Subcontractors

Specialist subcontractors.

Alongside our core team we work with a small network of vetted specialist firms. If that is you, register with us and we will add you to the list our estimators price against.

  • Fire stopping and passive fire protection
  • Fire alarm installation and testing
  • Fire risk assessment
  • Specialist and high voltage electrical
  • HIU and MVHR servicing
  • Roofing and access or scaffolding

What we ask before onboarding

  • Proof of trade accreditation for the works you carry out
  • Public liability and employer's liability insurance
  • RAMS for the works you deliver
  • DBS checks for anyone attending occupied residential buildings

Subcontractors are held to the same on-site standards as our own engineers. Anything less and the relationship does not continue.
