The project

The existing bathroom was original to the property. A panelled bath with an over bath shower, a pedestal basin and a dated close coupled WC sat against part tiled walls, with the layout wasting most of the usable floor area and the pipework showing its age behind the bath panel.

The brief was a complete replacement rather than a cosmetic refresh, so the room was stripped back to substrate. Tiles and adhesive were removed from every wall, the floor was lifted and the existing waste and supply pipework was exposed and reviewed before any new work started.

New studwork was formed to carry a wall hung WC and to conceal the pipework and cistern, giving a clean run of wall for full height tiling. First fix plumbing and electrical work followed, including the feed for the new shower, extraction and lighting, with everything set out before boarding so the finished surfaces stayed uninterrupted.

The finished room is a walk in shower with a black framed glass screen, a stone effect feature wall, a dark timber vanity unit with a counter top basin, a round mirror and a wall hung WC. One team handled the whole sequence, so the client had a single point of contact from survey through to the final clean.
